Jerry McKenzie Trio

Jerry McKenzie, Drums ~ While playing with Stan Kenton Orchestra, Jerry recorded 11 albums including the Grammy Award winners “Kenton’s West Side Story” and “Adventures in Jazz”. Jerry has performed with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Michele LeGrand, Jack Brokensha, Rosemary Clooney, Mel Torme, the Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra and the Glenn Miller/Ray McKinley Orchestra.

Ray Tini, Bass ~ Ray works in the Detroit area with the John Trudell Big Band. He traveled with singer Paul Anka for 15 years, plated with Pavorati and numerous other big names.

Terry Lower, Piano ~ For over 30 years, Terry has been active in the jazz scene in Michigan and beyond performing with many jazz greats. He has been getting more recognition in recent years as the leader of his own trio and septet including performances at the Michigan Jazz Festival and the renowned Detroit-Montreux International Jazz Festival.

After studying composing/arranging and performance at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Terry returned to Michigan and for over 35 years has been active on the jazz scene both here and abroad performing and/or recording with many jazz greats including Frank Morgan,  David “Fathead” Newman, Larry Nozero, Bobby Shew, Hendrik Meurkins , Kevin Mahogany and Benny Golson to name a few. Terry has toured in Italy as part of the “Centro Jazz Torino” concert series in 2006 with vocalist/Grammy nominee  Betty Joplin and again in 2008 with the Edye Evans Hyde Sextet. Also a prolific writer, many of Terry’s original compositions have been published and recorded on numerous CD’s  including his own Septet’s  2005 release  “Step By Step” and his (2009) piano trio 2-CD set, “4 Trios”
