David L. Catron began his association with Michigan State University in 1970 and since that time has served as Professor of Tuba, Associate Director of Bands, and Director of the MSU Spartan Marching Band. In 1974 he began a five-year tenure as Director of Bands at Wichita State University before returning to Michigan State University in 1979. Nationally known and respected for his work with concert and marching bands, Professor Catron appears frequently as guest conductor and clinician throughout the United States and Europe. He is currently Associate Director of the MSU School of Music.
