Donald Flickinger is Director of Bands and Conductor of the Chamber Orchestra at Ferris State University and is currently Acting Humanities Department Head in the College of Arts and Sciences. He is an active guest conductor and has taught conducting in Melbourne, Australia. Mr. Flickinger has enjoyed a twenty-five year affiliation with Blue Lakes Fine Arts Camp. He has been a regular conductor for student groups, conductor of the Blue Lake Festival Band and Orchestra, and has conducted while touring Europe and Scandinavia with the Blue Lake International Band for five summers. In the summer of 1998 Mr. Flickinger will serve as music director of the first Blue Lake International Community Band Tour. He also serves as Chairman of the Blue Lake sponsored Leonard Falcone International Euphonium and Tuba Festival. Mr. Flickinger is conductor of the West Central Concert Band and is active as an adult band guest conductor. Mr. Flickinger's primary conducting focus continues to be adult recreational music.
