Central Michigan Area Concert Band

For nearly 25 years, the Central Michigan Area Concert Band has entertained audiences with its repertoire of standard concert band fare—a mix of marches, overtures, suites, pop and show tune medleys, and concert pieces.

At the same time, the band has provided an opportunity for its members to regularly exercise and expand their skills in an organization and environment that truly celebrates the challenges and joys that come with active participation in the art of music making.

Central Michigan Area Concert Band musicians are all volunteers. Drawn together by their mutual dedication to music-making, members of the band hail from all across the mid-Michigan community – Gratiot, Clare, Mecosta, Montcalm and Isabella counties.

Weekly rehearsals are held in Shepherd High School under the direction of Claude Lemmer, who has conducted the Central Michigan Area Concert Band for 24 years. The group plays a dozen or more public concerts each year.
