Birmingham Concert Band
Birmingham, Michigan

Grant M. Hoemke, conductor

Twenty-one years ago several Birmingham area residents got together to explore the idea of starting up a Birmingham area band. The group included local business owners, a newspaper editor, and a musician. The need for "our own" musical group became obvious when the only music available at the Birmingham Centennial parade was provided by a bagpipe from Canada. From this meeting of civic minded residents came the beginnings of the current Birmingham Concert Band (BCB).

Throughout its history, the BCB has provided musical enjoyment to thousands of music lovers through its many concerts. In addition, hundreds of local musicians have been given a chance to continue their musical involvment after leaving school right in their own community.

We are proud to be able to fill this important musical presence in our community. We appreciate the support of many music lovers whose musical talents and gifts make possible the continued and growing success of the BCB.
