During the school year, our concerts are presented at Parcells Middle School's auditorium. We present a "fall concert" -generally in early December (which includes some "Christmas" music) and a spring concert - Generally in May. Then in summer, we present two or three outdoor concerts - at two different Grosse Pointe Parks (this year at Grosse Pointe Farm's Pier Park and Grosse Pointe Shore's Lakefront Park) and, in some years an outdoor concert at one of the Grosse Pointe High Schools.

We are, as the name implies, a concert band with a somewhat varying personnel complement - depending on the season. We are at our largest during the summer session because former band members who are away at College rejoin us during the summer. (Our age range is from High School to 75 years old) This summer we have about sixty members with a fairly full instrumentation; Our Woodwind section includes two oboes, a bassoon, as well as Bass Clarinet - to say nothing of the usual instruments: Clarinet, Flute, Piccolo, soprano, alto, tenor and baritone sax's. We enjoy a full percussion section(incuding an excellent timpanist and a dynamite melody percussionist). Our Brass section is complete with three tubas, two Trombones, one bass trombone, two Euphoniums. seven French Horns, as well as a huge trumpet/cornet section. Our conductor is Ralph Miller who studied with Dr. Harry Begian at University of Illinois.

In the winter, we do some overtures, etc. but in the summer, we concentrate on lighter fare (al la "old fashioned band concert in the park" type of music - lots of marches) but we are doing the Waltzes from Der Rosenkavalier" in this year's summer repertoire.

We are a year-round group and our indoor concerts are televised on Grosse Pointe Cablevision.
