Monica Rose Duffy


Hailed as "a moment of grace" by the Philadelphia Inquirer Monica Rose Duffy's credits include Amor in Monteverdi's Ballo del Ingrate also Cupid in Venus and Adonis by John Blow both with Julianne Baird and Clarion Music, NYC. With Pennsylvania Pro Musica, she has sung Orazia in Pucell's Indian Queen, Belinda in Dido and Aneas, and soprano solos in Davide Penetente by Mozart and Handel's Messiah. Other performances include Voice in William Walton's Façade with Ars Futura at the Art Alliance in Philadelphia, Young Heidi in Sondheim's Follies with Michigan Opera Theatre - sharing the stage with Julliet Prowse, Nancy Dussault and Edie Adams. Monica is lead vocalist in the Celtic group Separate Reality which regularly appears at the Philadelphia Irish Ceili and at the Bethlehem Celtic Classic. She earned both Bachelors and Masters degrees in Voice Performance from the University of Michigan where she received two Fellowships: the Betty Brewster Scholarship and the Karl Haas award. She is a member of the Conrad Donakowski family, named first Musical Family of Michigan by joint resolution of the Legislature of Michigan, and was also featured on the Young Artist Series directed by Don Pash on WKAR-TV.
